Diamond Audio MSHDHU14 Installation Guide | 2014+ Street Glide

Please follow these installation tips when you're ready to install your new
Diamond Audio Bundle in your 2014+ Harley-Davidson® Street Glide.

Owners Manual:


Tools needed:

  • Fender cover
  • T20 torx bit
  • T27 torx bit
  • 5/32 hex bit
  • Panel removal tool
Step 1
Remove the outer fairing:
  • Remove the four T27 torx bolts.
    • There are two located on each side of the fairing.
    • The shorter bolt is lower and long bolt is towards the top of the fairing.
  • Place a fender cover over the front fender. To protect the painted surface.
    • Remove the three T27 torx bolts from the top of the fairing.
    • Leave the longer bolt in the middle attached slightly to support the fairing.
  • Remove the windshield.
  • Remove the center bolt and remove the out fairing.
    • Disconnect the headlight connector and completely remove the outer fairing.

Step 2
Remove the factory radio:
  • Remove the fairing vent by removing the two T27 torx bolts.
  • Disconnect the connector from the back of the gauge cluster.
  • Remove the factory connectors from the top of the radio bracket.
    • These are held in with Christmas tree type fasteners and can be removed with a panel removal tool.
  • Remove all the connections from the back of the factory radio.
    • Depress the tabs to remove the connectors.
    • Depress the tab and swivel the rocker to unlock the main vehicle connector.
  • Remove the mounting plate from the top of the radio:
    • Using the 5/32 hex remove the screws on either side of the gauge cluster.
    • Use a T20 torx bit to remove the bolt next to the UBS port.
    • Use a 5/32 hex to remove the two bolts on either side of the tray.
    • Remove the four bolt on the top of the mounting plate using a T20 torx.
    • Grab the plate and pull straight back.
  • Remove the gauge cluster:
    • Remove the single bolt in the middle of the gauge cluster and remove.
  • Remove the four 3/16 inch hex to remove the bolts securing each corner of the radio.
  • Lift the factory radio up and out of the inner fairing.
Step 3
Installing your new MSHDHU14 radio:
  • Place your radio into the inner fairing and secure using the four 5/32 hex bolts.
    • We recommend leaving these slightly loose until all parts are in place.
  • Connect the main harness to the back of the radio.
    • Line up the factory connector and swivel the rocker till it locks into place.
  • Connect the AM/FM antenna to the back of the radio.
  • Connect the USB to the back of the radio.
  • Install the provided microphone is you would like.
    • Insert into the microphone port. We suggest routing the microphone up to the top of the inner fairing so that it can be mounted on the backside of the windshield. (Behind the windshield towards the rider)
  • Install the Sirius XM tuner, if selected at checkout
    • Install the Sirius XM tuner into the Sirius XM connector on the back of the radio.
  • Install the supplied antenna to the tuner and mount the antenna.
Step 4
Testing the function of your MSHDHU14 radio:
  • Turn the ignition switch to accessory power.
    • Turn the AM/FM tuner on and find a local radio station.
    • Check the handlebar controls.
  • If you selected to add or maintain Sirius XM, you will need to contact Sirius XM to activate or transfer your existing service plan to the new tuner ID.
Step 5
Replacing the mounting plate:
  • Replace the gauge cluster and secure with the bolt in the middle.
    • Connect the harness to the gauge cluster.
  • Place the plate back in position:
    • Use a 5/32 hex to replace the screws on either side of the gauge cluster.
    • Use a 5/32 hex to replace the two bolts on either side of the tray.
    • Use a T20 torx bit to replace the bolt next to the UBS port.
    • Replace the four bolts on the top of the mounting plate using a T20 torx.
    • Replace the factory connectors back into the holes in the plate.
Step 6
Replacing the outer fairing:
  • Replace the fairing vent by pushing it into place and secure using the two T27 torx bolts.
  • Connect the headlight connector and place the outer fairing onto the motorcycle.
    • Use the longer windshield bolt in the middle hole to secure the outer fairing.
  • Replace the windshield and replace the other two windshield bolts using a T27 torx.
  • Replace the bolts on the side of the fairing.
    • The longer bolt will go towards the top, near the mirror.
    • The shorter bolts will go towards the bottom of the fairing.
